HOW IT WORKS

Modern cars use mini computers called Electronic Control Units or ECU for engines and brakes. The Computer Chips are loaded with software a set of instructions to follow called MAPS (like road maps ) based on measurements from the cars sensors. Modern Car Tuning adjusts the software so the ECU follows a new MAP to enhance either performance or economy with significant torque improvements.

There are other various industry marketing terms like CHIP TUNING, SUPER CHIPS where the original ECU chip was replaced by a tuned chip mostly by soldering a new one in, back in the early days of ECUs. Most modern ECUs are now programmed through the diagnostic port with several advantages like being virtually undetectable apart from underneath your foot, speed of installation and no hanging add on box with dodgy wiring that lies to the ECU air temperature causing excessive over fuelling to gain power sometimes resulting in lots of black smoke. Air temperature measurement is a safeguard to stop your engine blowing up so thats why its important to REMAP the ECU directly. 

We employ the services of specialist tuners to build custom ECU-MAPS for us so we can download the original manufacturers map from the vehicle and upload a new retuned map. Our priority is to ensure the vehicles driveability throughout the engines rev range building in a margin of safety within the manufactures tolerances not to overstress the engine.
